How does my teen daughter start a dog walking business?

Q & A

My 15 year old daughter loves dogs, but we don’t currently have one, and would like to start her own dog walking business. We give $7 pocket money each week but would like to earn a bit more so that she will have enough money to buy a farm and car when she leaves home, as well as animals. We’d like to know what things she’ll need to start this business in Sydney, Australia. Things like what price to charge, what things she’ll need, how to advertise etc. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Craigslist is a great way to get free advertising.
Another way is to just start knocking on the neighbors doors.
You could start out at $5 per dog per walk.
If that is too low she could adjust her prices.
The key is to get customers and then adapt the business to meet their needs.
If you are always thinking about what the customer wants and needs you will be fine.
I know this is not exactly walking dogs but I believe you could get more regular customers that pay more if you offered a doggie waste removal service.
Then you could expand into walking the dogs as an extra service.
    More customers equals more cash.
    Good Luck.
