How does a small start up business decide on which is the best way to advertise their busines? When money is tight and the owners are new to publicizing their business how do they find advice on advertising and/or money for advertising?

Two close friends and I are looking to start a small smoothie business, called “The Smoothie Shoppe”. We are going to be 18 when we would be doing this, and would look to open up in spring/summer 2012. For anybody who maybe has started up a small business, or has information on these types of business ventures, I’m wondering what the start up costs may be and if it would be better to lease or rent a storefront or to build our own shop.
